The revolutionary coating lubricant based on cutting-edge patented CCL (Carbon Carbon Lubrication) technology from Finland. The fluid acts reactively in lubrication and forms a 3D amorphous polymer matrix that acts like a “liquid bearing” with its hard surfaces and rolling parts. When coated as a thin film, the reactive parts of CCL technology form an omniphobic protective coating.

First chain lubrication:
When processing in a warm climate (above 23°C), place the bottle for 10 minutes at a temperature below 20°C before installation. Shake the 42SHIELD bottle vigorously for a moment. Note that the cap has a child lock, which operates by pressing and turning the cap simultaneously. Lubricate the parts by gently squeezing the bottle. For the first application, apply generously but without dripping. The precision nozzle makes it easy to apply 42SHIELD to each chain roller and link contact surfaces. Also apply to the sprockets and derailleur lubrication points. Use brush to spread and even out the application on the cassette. For the best protection, use the brush also on the chain after lubrication. 42SHIELD does not attract dirt nor absorb water when dry, so do not wipe off the excess unnecessarily. Run through the gears back and forth a few times. The drying time after the first treatment is 4–6 hours at 20°C.
Re-lubrication:
For re-lubrication, keep the bottle warm for 10 minutes (max 25°C) to make the liquid more fluid. Wash off sand, dirt, and dust from the chains and sprockets with water and let dry. You can speed up drying with compressed air. During re-lubrication, apply a small amount of 42SHIELD to the chain rollers, link contact surfaces, and sprockets. Use the brush to spread and even out the application if necessary. Run through the gears back and forth a few times. Allow to dry for about 1 hour.
Coating:
Do not apply to brake surfaces. Always test the product’s suitability on a small, inconspicuous area first. Shake the 42SHIELD bottle vigorously for a moment. Note that the cap has a child lock, which operates by pressing and turning the cap simultaneously. Start by applying 42SHIELD to the application sponge or a cloth. Apply 42SHIELD evenly to the frame, front fork, helmet, etc. Apply and spread more as needed. Wait until the surface has dried and appears matte. Wipe off the residues from the surface with the microfiber cloth or similar. When no residues are visible, turn the cloth to a clean side and polish the treated area. The coating is ready for use after two hours (20°C), and it reaches its final properties in about a day.
